Disney Dream
Disney Dream is the first cruise ship constructed by MEYER WERFT for the American shipping company Disney Cruise Line (DCL). With a length of 339.5 metres, it became the new flagship of the DCL fleet when it was completed in December 2010.
Both Disney cruise ships from Papenburg are specially designed for families and evoke memories of 1930s passenger ships with their black hull, white superstructure, twin red chimneys and yellow lifeboats. The classic Mickey Mouse colours are even reflected in the ship’s design.
The ship’s interior includes a combination of art deco design and features from the wonderful world of Walt Disney. The interior cabins are fitted with virtual portholes that broadcast the view of the outside – interrupted by occasional visits from various Disney characters. Another highlight on board the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy is the AquaDuck, a 233-metre-long white-water slide on the 12th deck. This is the world’s longest cruise ship slide that extends over four decks.
MEYER WERFT presented the Disney Cruise Line alongside its sister ship, the Disney Fantasy, in February 2012.
