Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras was handed over to Carnival Cruise Line in December 2020. The luxury liner is setting standards with its eco-friendly LNG drive system. This is the second time MEYER TURKU has installed the cutting-edge technology in its cruise ships. The ship’s engine room was manufactured by NEPTUN WERFT in Rostock – another shipyard in the MEYER Group.

Mardi Gras adds a touch of excitement to Carnival Cruise Line, featuring the first ever roller-coaster on the high seas. Adrenaline junkies are able to whizz around the ship at 40 mph – the course is 244 metres long. If that’s a bit too thrilling for you, why not relax with a round of mini golf or a trip to the water park? There’s a whole range of activities for sporty passengers, including high ropes, volleyball and table tennis. Around 6,600 passengers will find relaxation and enjoyment in six themed areas. The cocktail bars and jazz club are reminiscent of New Orleans, while “La Piazza” is inspired by Italian cuisine and culture. Exciting days can be brought to a relaxing end with a trip to the theatre, cinema or casino.

A great deal of engineering and craftsmanship has gone into the construction of the 345-metre-long ocean liner. Mardi Gras will welcome a structurally identical sister ship in 2022 – the second vessel is also being built by MEYER TURKU.
